PAssing Through the light
©  2011 William Wheeler

LYRICS
© 2011 William Wheler

Verse
He’s been to the mountain and they called him back
Said it wasn’t time to leave this land.
He licked his wounds till he healed inside.
Dusted himself off and regained his pride.

Chorus
When you pass through the light to the other side
It’s like time stands still only a moment in life.
All the people you ever knew
Are standing in line to honor you

Verse
You see things more clearly then you used to do.
Other people’s issues and what they say about you
They’re like echoes bouncing in the tunnel of your mind
Carried away on the winds of change

Chorus
When you pass through the light to the other side
It’s like time stands still only a moment in life
All the people you ever knew
Are waiting in line to honor you

Verse
There comes a time when we all must choose
A path laid out by another’s rules
Then you live each day knowing each step we take
Is only a foot print hidden by the games we play

Voodoo Roadman

lyrics:

©  2011 William Wheeler

Verse
I went to see the blind man, to give me new sight.
He said look deep inside your soul, to find a new heart.
Gris, Gris Sancta Marie. Lift that veil from your eyes to see the truth.

Chorus
Where I am is where I’m at.
Yea, it’s where I’m supposed to be.
Seasons come and then they go,
Just passing through, no stop or go.

Verse
Yea I’m a voodoo road man, if you look into my eyes,
Ooh, ooh you’ll get a big surprise.
If you spend any time, in this world of my mind
I’ll take you to new places, leave your troubles behind.

Chorus
Where I am is where I’m at.
Yea, it’s where I’m supposed to be.
Seasons come and then they go,
Just passing through, no stop or go.

Verse
Don’t you all worry, if I’m not like you,
It takes all kinds of people, to make this world go.
Everybody needs a little spice in their life,
I’m like cayenne pepper, if you use me just right.

 Verse
Gris, Gris sancta Marie lift that veil from your eyes to see the truth.
Ooh, ooh dat voodoo road man coming, can’t you feel the heat?
Magic’s running from your soul down to your feet.
It’s all right to lose control for a little while.

Ooh, ooh
Voodoo road man is coming,
He’s right behind you

Gris Gris sancta Marie, lift that veil from your eyes to see the truth

Gris gris sancta marie, voodoo man is coming, can’t you feel the heat?

Right behind you!
gonna get you!
Ooh voodoo road man gonna get you!

satan's velvet glove

LYRICS
© 2010 William Wheeler

Verse
Take me to that mountain high,
Been trying to get there all my life.
Oh Lord, if they knew how I felt for you
Then they would see right through the things I do

Chorus

It’s so hard to be awaiting for a sign from above
When all I been feeling is Satan’s velvet glove.

Verse

It’s a long, long road that I followed,
Been lost and shamed myself so,
But you know that deep inside my soul,
I’m just your child looking to find my way home.

Chorus
It’s so hard to be awaiting for a sign from above
When all I been feeling is Satan’s velvet glove.

Verse
I laid down all my sinful ways to receive your grace.
So when you come a calling I can hear your voice of praise.
But the hands on the wall hardly move at all,
Will I ever meet you before the chime strikes twelve?.

Chorus

It’s so hard to be awaiting for a sign from above
When all I been feeling is Satan’s velvet glove.

You Can't go home again

lyrics

© 1986 William Wheeler

Verse
In my younger days, I had such funny ways.
If there was a way, I would always play.
Life was a game to me, a playground fantasy.
Now I see what’s become of me, a fool’s tragedy.

Verse

I don’t know why, this hurt inside won’t go away.
It seems to me, I’m living in a dream that won’t die.
I've got battle scars left In my heart, memories I try to hide,
Visions of days gone by, shadows near at hand.

Verse
A long time ago, far away from home, I lost my way.
Peoples smiling faces, were replaced by death and hatred, as my soul cried.
You can’t go home again; it’s never likes it’s been.
Why can’t people see, what it’s done to me?

Verse

Why can’t I feel good inside, what happened to my pride?
Oh could it be the things I’ve seen, are still with me?
Oh I want to know, why we fight and go to war?
People die and pain’s reborn, but nothing’s ever gained.
You can’t go home again, it’s never like it’s been.
Why can’t people see, what it’s done to me?

He's a Veteran
of Those Baby-Boomer Years

lyrics:

©  2011 William Wheeler

Verse
You might see him on the streets,
Wearing his old camouflage OD greens,
Or with a Blackberry in his hand, in a thousand dollar suit.
He may or may not look at you
All you are seeing, is what he wants you to...

Chorus
He’s a Veteran, of those baby boomer years.
It’s been so long ago, it’s almost like a whisper.
Late at night, when he’s all alone
Those thoughts creep in, and take his soul.

Verse
Sometimes he sees things that should not be.
Visions of days gone past, God he hopes it won’t last,
'Cause what would people say or do, if they really knew?

Chorus

He’s a Veteran, of those baby boomer years.
It’s been so long ago, it’s almost like a whisper.
Late at night, when he’s all alone
Those thoughts creep in, and take his soul.

 Verse
He wears his face, ooh, like a changing mask.
A reflection in the mirror, distorted by the past.
When he looks at you, with that thousand yard stare
His eyes are like deep pools, a window to his past.

Chorus

He’s a Veteran, of those baby boomer years
It’s been so long ago, it’s almost like a whisper
Late at night, when he’s all alone
Those thoughts creep in, and take his soul

What would jesus say?

lyrics

© 2011 William Wheeler

 Verse
People are only trying to get by
Can’t even look their children in the eye.
Middle class has slowly slipped away,
Corporate greed, has become the American way.

Chorus
What if Jesus walked this earth today?
Would He be happy, what  would He say?
Wash His hands of the mess we have made?
Hang a sign on the gates; Heavens closed,
Go your own way.

Verse
What if Jesus said to you,
Go feed the hungry, give them shelter too.
Call all the people, Our brothers and sisters too,
Or say no, they’re not like me..

Chorus

What if Jesus walked this earth today?
Would He be happy, what  would He say?
Wash His hands of the mess we have made?
Hang a sign on the gates; Heavens closed,
Go your own way.

Verse

What if Jesus looked you in the eye,
Said there’s no judgment or any blame.
Look deep inside your soul, find that part of Me.
Could you look Him in the eye, or hang your head in shame?

Chorus
What if Jesus walked this earth today?
Would He be happy, what  would He say?
Wash His hands of the mess we have made?
Hang a sign on the gates; Heavens closed,
Go your own way.

Verse
What if Jesus said to you,
What do you teach your children in My name?
Is it love one another as I have loved you
Or find a way to shun those, not like you?
